The transport association Luxembourg has awarded INIT with the delivery of an integrated system for control, passenger information and electronic fare collection (e-ticketing). For the association of 34 private and 3 public transport companies of the Grand Duchy INIT will equip in the next four years operation control centres, stops and around 920 vehicles with appropriate hardware and software.

This integrated system controls almost the entire local public transport in the mother country of the European Union. A special feature of the project is the connection to neighbouring light rail systems in Belgium, Germany and France. INIT will also implement the interfaces for Luxembourg’s cross-border ticketing in these countries. Moreover the order also includes the supply of stationary ticket vending machines and passenger information displays.

In the final stage further 400 vehicles are to be equipped with hardware and software from INIT.
