Bus travel in Telford has been boosted following a major investment in new buses by Arriva Midlands.

Three brand new Mercedes Citaro single decker buses, which represent an investment of just over £450,000, have been introduced along route 12 travelling between Telford Town Centre and Brookside via Stirchley.

The vehicles were officially unveiled at The International Centre in Telford by David Wright MP for Telford, Vic Rainsford from Telford & Wrekin Senior Citizens Forum Alex Perry, regional managing director for Arriva Midlands and Helen Hill, Transport Operations Group Manager at Telford & Wrekin Council.

The new buses deliver a range of benefits, including CCTV, low floors for easy access and the latest Euro 5 engine technology, making them more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

Alex Perry said: “We are committed to providing a well run, reliable service across all of our routes in the local communities that we operate in.

“The provision of these new buses along our route 12 service will not only increase capacity, but make it easier and more comfortable for passengers to travel with us, providing them with an improved overall journey experience.”
