The Translink Group (the main public transport provider in Northern Ireland) has partnered with Nomad Digital to offer state-of-the-art WiFi on its trains, buses and coaches.

The new partnership means that the Translink Group (which is made up of Metro, Ulsterbus and Northern Ireland Railways) can now have a common management platform for its WiFi solutions throughout all of its transport modes, generating a more efficient operation and ensuring cost savings.

The new partnership also means that all of the operator’s vehicles will have the latest in innovative WiFi router architecture, incorporating new technologies such as integrated next-generation modems and access points, providing Translink with a future-proofed solution.

Jean-Philippe Tissot, Nomad’s EMEAI General Manager, said: “Our unique proposition is to develop strong customer relationships through our leading technology and our hands-on local support. We are developing a local presence in Northern Ireland to benefit Translink.”
