DB Regio Tyne and Wear receives five-star service award

DB Regio operates the Tyne and Wear Metro on behalf of owners Nexus. It gained the BQF accolade by demonstrating good working partnerships, including organisations outside of the industry, environmental initiatives and promoting staff health.

The BQF assessment, which works with businesses across all sectors to improve performance, stated: “Leadership visibility is high in the business with staff particularly recognising the fact that senior leaders will come out of offices during difficult and busy periods to support delivery.

“A range of leadership programmes and development opportunities at DB ensures future leaders are identified and given the skills and competencies needed to perform at their best as leaders.”

Sharon Kelly, managing director for DB Regio Tyne and Wear, commented on the assesment: “We are strongly committed to continuous improvement here at DB Regio and are delighted that the organisation has been formally recognised as a five-star business.

“It is recognition of all our staff’s hard work, dedication and contributions that has helped DB Regio achieve this status. It clearly shows that everyone is doing everything they can when it comes to providing excellent customer service across the network.”

The light rail operator joins Arriva rail businesses Arriva Trains Wales and CrossCountry who have also been awarded Recognised for Excellence status.
