TRANSEXPO abounded with accompanying events. Following the previous years’ example, a day before the expo commenced the Economic Chamber of Municipal Transport held their specialised conference. This year’s session was organised under the banner of “Municipal transport as the element of the National Programme for Development of Low-Emission Economy”. The meting brought together world-class specialists, including Alain Flausch; Secretary General UITP, representatives of government institutions, municipal transport operators from all over Poland, higher education institutions as well as public transport fleet producers. For the first time in the Expo history Targi Kielce was the venue for a very important event – the assembly of Polish members of Union Internationale des Transports Publics.

The Expo was also the stage for the 5th Polish National Championship of Bus Drivers organised by “PT Bus” editorial team in conjunction with Polish Tracker Association Club and Targi Kielce. Not only was this year’s contest designed to select the best drivers in the category of tourist busses and local transport busses, but this was also the qualifying round for the UICR Professional Drivers Championship to be held in 2014. The Kielce’s competition for the first time encompassed the new “open” category – this contest was targeted at managerial staff of passenger transport companies. The contestants had the chance to win themselves the “PT Bus” Publisher’s cup.
