Go North East has welcomed the latest bus passenger satisfaction figures from Passenger Focus, published today.

Passenger Focus, the independent consumer body, carried out the survey last autumn and Go North East’s customers gave the company a 90 per cent overall satisfaction rating.

Across all operators in Tyne and Wear, passenger satisfaction increased from 87 per cent to 90 per cent, well ahead of the national average.

Kevin Carr, managing director of Go North East, said: “This independent survey of bus users is a tremendous vote of confidence from our passengers. Go North East has invested more than £22 million in more than 100 brand new, state-of-the-art vehicles and opened a brand new depot in Gateshead at a cost of more than £8 million. These investments have clearly been noticed by our passengers.

Mr Carr added: “The figures are also a tribute to the dedication and effort put in on a daily basis by our 2,000 employees who work hard to provide our customers with the highest levels of customer service.”
