“The new buses are low entry single deckers, and offer our passengers a first-class experience,” explained McGill’s Managing Director, Ralph Roberts. “By investing in the quality Wrightbus finish and executive interior for the 38, we are offering bus users along this busy corridor a superior alternative to that currently on offer.

“The reliability and aesthetics of the Wrightbus Eclipse vehicles guarantees us the competitive advantage on the Paisley to Glasgow route. I am delighted with the initial response to the 38 from our passengers and we look forward to building upon this enthusiasm for a high-quality bus service along this corridor.”

Operating on the proven Volvo B7RLE chassis, the Euro 5 incentive buses are capable of carrying 75 passengers plus driver. They are each fitted with 44 high back cantilever seats with a high class e-leather finish and a beech wood floor; all adding to the quality interior of the new buses. Two internal TV monitors display live news, while integrated free WiFi is also available for passenger use.

McGill’s currently operates more than 150 buses across almost 40 routes from their Greenock and Glasgow depots. The company recently purchased the stage carriage routes and goodwill of three local Renfrewshire operators to strengthen its position as a leading, quality independent transport provider.

“McGill’s is a forward thinking operator,” explained Robert Mason, Wrightbus National Accounts Manager.

“These vehicles represent an investment in real quality, which will significantly benefit the commuters regularly using the service. We are continuing to build a close relationship with McGill’s going forward”.
