Bus manufacturer Van Hool will showcase designs for the Exqui.City concept model or so-called ‘tram-bus’ at UITP 2015. The model hopes to provide passengers and public transport companies with comfortable, punctual, flexible, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective vehicles.

The Exqui.City has been redesigned with extended windows stretching from the ceiling to almost the floor line allowing more light to enter the passenger cabin creating a greater sense of space. Internally, the use of wheel-hub engines optimises the available surface of the lowered floor, offering a 100 percent plane floor along the full length of the vehicle and a larger standee capacity. A characteristic feature of the vehicle’s interior lay-out is the addition of a large flip down cross bench. All seats and benches are covered with new, more durable environmentally friendly materials. The vehicles interior also incorporates changeable RGB LED lights giving the driver the option of controlling the vehicles atmosphere and the addition of WiFi and USB ports for charging mobile devices.
