At 44 metres long, the new Citadis trams will be equipped with APS – a ground-level power supply and will accommodate between 220 and 300 passengers, the equivalent of over 3 buses. Each Citadis tram will incorporate air conditioning, a video surveillance system, audio and visual information and a fully low floor. Each tram will also be up to 98% recyclable.

Ana Giros, Senior Vice-President Alstom Transport France, commented on the new order: “This new order is undeniable proof of the confidence placed in Alstom’s Citadis by our historic customer.  These 5 new trams will be designed and produced in France to high levels of quality and respect for deadlines.”

The Citadis trams will be built at Alstom production sites in France: at La Rochelle for the design and assembly, Ornans for the motors, Le Creusot for the bogies, Tarbes for the drive train equipment and Villeurbanne for the on board electronics.
