Lanarkshire residents can now enjoy smart state-of-the-art buses on route 201 connecting Airdrie, Coatbridge, Bellshill, Motherwell, Hamilton, Blantyre and East Kilbride, as a result of a £5million investment from First, Lanarkshire’s biggest bus operator.

31 brand new single deck buses have been introduced on the route and feature luxurious leather seating

31 brand new single deck buses have been introduced on the route and feature luxurious leather seating, free wifi and easy access for wheelchair users and buggies.

‘This is great news for our customers, our fleet of 31 specially route branded new buses have the latest features to ensure our customers travel in enhanced comfort and style. We want to provide the best possible journey experience for our customers and we recognise that more of our customers want to stay connected while on the move which is why we are also providing free wifi’, said First Lanarkshire’s managing director, Fiona Kerr.

On top of its investment in new buses, First Lanarkshire has also launched a recruitment drive for PCV holders to apply to the company for a number of bus driver positions based at its Blantyre and Overtown depots. Applications should be made online at www.firstgroup.com/careers
