Joining the Editorial Board of Intelligent Transport means to contribute to the configuration of an interesting magazine and supporting a place for exchange of public transport experts,” said Thomas on accepting a place on the Board.”

Thomas was responsible for the implementation of CCTV recording procedures, the implementation of ‘HelpU’ (a mixed de-escalating patrol in one of Vienna’s Metro stations) and the planning of Vienna’s metro operations during the Euro 2008 European football tournament.

Thomas continued: “Reports of operators in using industry products and developing new operational or security solutions for the daily challenges of mass transport are especially of great concern for me, and every issue of Intelligent Transport covers interesting topics about the public transport sector. It consists of a good mixture of industry reports and articles on current and new developments.”

Thomas works as Operational On-Duty Manager for Incident Management and is a Member of Wiener Linien’s staff for Crisis Management. He has also been the Chairman of the UITP Security Commission since April 2011.

Thomas continues: “Reports on operational and security issues and introductions of the public transport networks of various cities and regions makes Intelligent Transport worth reading for members of transport companies, and its specific supplements offer a deeper look inside actual challenges and topics.”

Intelligent Transport is looking forward to utilising Thomas’ knowledge and expertise to bring our readers positive and informative articles.
