This first order for INIT in France marks a strategic milestone in its pursuit to top into the French market…

As announced by the local authority Le Grand Avignon, INIT has been commissioned to install a new Intermodal Transport Control System for the public transport company TCRA (Transport en Commun de la Région d‘Avignon), a subsidiary of the TRANSDEV Group, as well as to equip over 250 vehicles with the necessary hardware and software. This first order for INIT in France marks a strategic milestone in its pursuit to top into the French market.

In Avignon, a modern INIT solution is to replace the existing control system and be put into operation by the end of 2014. In this first phase, around 150 public buses and 80 school buses are to be integrated into the new Intermodal Transport Control System (ITCS). In the second phase of the project, which is due to be completed by 2016, the 24 vehicles running on the newly constructed tram lines are to be linked up to the system.

TRCA conveys more than 10 million passengers a year in the Avignon urban centre and intends to further expand its service over the years to come
